The IAIS trains travel 470 miles over former Rock Island trackage from Chicago, Illinois to Council Bluffs, Iowa. The IAIS uses a fascinating variety of early diesels from EMD and ALCO to transport their trains of unit grain, intermodal, and mixed freight. Our annual celebration (held the fourth weekend of July) is a fun filled weekend that entails activities for all ages. Activities vary every year.
